Myanmar was ruled by a military junta until 2011. By 2015 the country had (violently) transferred to democracy but, the junta still holding 1/4 of the power. In 2020 the Burmese People elected the National League for Democracy. The military did not like this and seized the leader of the party. The Junta has been reestablished in Burma. 🙁
